Hello New Year 2022!

With 2021 in the rear view mirror, it’s a great time to reflect on the year behind us and look forward to the year ahead. This past year has been challenging in a number of ways. On top of the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic, we’ve had a lot of changes at home that had extra people and pets in the house for several months, and I spent four months away from home. Despite it all, we have come to the end of this year, healthy, happy, and moving forward.

Looking forward into 2022, it’s time to plan for the new normal. I think “normal” will continue to include some risk and worry about COVID, so we need to use the tools and knowledge we have to keep moving forward. I’m so excited to re-open the studio to in-person workshops, beginning in January!

I’ve so missed spending time with my crafting friends, catching up with each other, meeting new friends, and making pretty things together. Don’t get me wrong. I’m very grateful for all the technology that’s allowed us to stay connected.

In fact, I’ve used the downtime from in-person events over the last year to catch up on technology. I’ve launched a website and workshop RSVP tool, and I’ve added a few regular virtual workshops that have allowed our community to grow beyond the county, and even State. In 2022, I will keep a couple of those virtual workshop options, and will use this new blog to share projects and crafting tips. I hope you’ll use the website to keep up on the goings on in the studio, and use the booking tool to save your seat at an in-person event, or to purchase your kit for a virtual event.

If you’re ready to craft together at an in-person workshop, there are a few new procedures to keep us all safe. In-person events are open to fully vaccinated crafters with proof of vaccine at the door. Workshops are limited to four guests, who will be seated six feet apart. Masking is optional once seated.  Attendees should bring their basic personal crafting supplies to limit sharing. A list of items to bring is provided in each event description. Any shared supplies will be sanitized between users. If you are not feeling well on the day of the event, please text or message me before the workshop to cancel your reservation, and take good care of yourself.

So let’s say farewell to 2021 and hello to 2022 wiser, stronger, and together! I have so much planned for the year ahead. I hope you are as eager to start the new year as I am. Stay well and let’s craft together soon!
