Our Story

Raised by creative and competent women, I always knew I could craft a beautiful life. My Grandmother taught me to play with yarn, my Mother taught me to sew, and both taught me to love making things. Whether making a greeting card to brighten someone’s day, or a sweater to keep warm, I find joy and relaxation when I’m crafting.

When I moved away from my Montana home to Northern Virginia, I was busy managing work, the commute, and my family. My four children were young and I was working full time, so my limited crafting time focused on the occasional handmade gift or Halloween costume, and memory keeping. I stumbled across a wonderful little community of scrapbookers, and I found my tribe! This is where the idea for Cloth, Paper, String was born.

Cloth, Paper, String

The Cloth, Paper, String Studio is a place for women to connect and create. A place where we can put down the to-do list, and squeeze in a little time to relax, laugh, and do things that recharge us. If you enjoy crafting and like to make pretty things, you belong in the studio.

The Cloth, Paper, String Studio was designed specifically to provide a space where crafters meet other crafters, learn new creative hobbies, and successfully complete fun projects. Though the studio started as an in-person setting, I now offer virtual workshops where you can learn quilting, paper crafting, and knitting from anywhere in the world. Starting with a little bit of cloth, or paper, or yarn, you can create pretty and practical items for yourself or the special people in your life.

I am also a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I’ve loved Stampin’ Up! since the early 1990’s. Stampin’ Up! products lead the paper crafting industry for quality, coordination, and just plain awesomeness. The studio paper craft workshops feature Stampin’ Up! exclusively.  Knitting and quilting workshops provide supply lists and tips for choosing the right yarn, fabric, and tools.
